Can You Find Malia?

Kids come in
They break your heart
Touch your heart
Teach your heart to hope
Test your heart
And, most of all, they bring joy
to your heart

This little girl
wide eyed, fast-talking
Tenaciously stubborn-
Looking for love
In a brief moment, she catches
your eye, and you know that it is
Just a matter of time-
Till she can tell you how she feels

Be totally vulnerable
and ask for that embrace that brings
safety- and the heart heals-

Days are endless teachings of what
true love breeds, it's in the air,
compassion surrounds, promises to keep,
friendships that bond a lifetime

It has come to a fair aloha,
eyes of laughter
peace of accomplishment felt.
